Joerg Flores Duerrbeck Joins the GABA Advisory Board
Human Resources executive and Honorary Consul of Germany brings more than 25 years of international leadership to GABA
GABA is pleased to welcome Joerg Duerrbeck to its Advisory Board. Duerrbeck is a Human Resources executive with more than 25 years of international experience. He also serves as the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Duerrbeck is recognized for guiding large-scale business and HR transformations. His expertise spans organizational design, operational efficiency, and cross-cultural integration in complex global organizations.
Leadership across industries and ownership models
Duerrbeck’s career covers a wide range of industries: aerospace and defense, industrial technology, IT infrastructure, life sciences and health technology, and market research. He has led transformations at publicly traded, privately owned, and private equity-backed companies. As a result, he has a rare understanding of how organizations of every kind grow, change, and bring people together.
Much of his work has taken place in global matrix organizations, where teams across countries and cultures must work as one. That experience has made cross-cultural integration a defining strength of his leadership.
A bridge between Germany and Southern California
Alongside his corporate career, Duerrbeck serves as the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for San Diego and Imperial Counties. In this role, he connects the diplomatic, economic, and cultural communities of Germany and Southern California.
That commitment mirrors GABA’s own mission. Duerrbeck combines deep experience in people and organizational leadership with an active role in German American relations. He brings a valuable perspective to GABA’s Advisory Board and strengthens the association’s ties to the San Diego region.
