The highlight of the evening was the presence of our honorary guest, Mohamed El-Erian, who received the GABA Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the German American community and his globally respected economic insight. Renowned broadcast journalist Frank Mottek, widely known as The Voice of Business News in Los Angeles, led a compelling and dynamic discussion with Dr. El-Erian. The conversation, which took place 100 days into the new U.S. administration, offered valuable insights into the global economy and financial markets. Guests were so captivated by the dialogue that it was easy to forget a four-course gourmet dinner awaited them—including freshly flown-in white asparagus, the evening’s culinary centerpiece.
The event commenced with an exclusive VIP reception, where guests had the opportunity to personally connect with Dr. El-Erian, Frank Mottek, and German Consul General Andrea Sasse. As a highlight of the evening, GABA Southern California proudly honors Mohamed El-Erian with the Outstanding Achievement Award, celebrating his remarkable contributions to the German American community and his unmatched global economic expertise. Mohamed El-Erian is one of the most influential economists of our time. He serves as President of Queens’ College at Cambridge University, Chief Economic Advisor at Allianz, and Chair of Gramercy Fund Management and is shaping global economic thinking from academia to the financial world.
