German American Friendship Award
We are deeply honored that GABA – the German American Business Association has been awarded the German American Friendship Award 2025 by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.
This prestigious recognition, issued by the German Ambassador in Washington, D.C., Jens Hanefeld, and presented by Consul General Theo Kidess at a rooftop ceremony in San Francisco, highlights GABA’s role in strengthening the bonds between Germany and the United States.
The award recognizes GABA’s longstanding commitment to fostering transatlantic dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. For over two decades, GABA has built a unique platform where business leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers from both sides of the Atlantic can connect, exchange ideas, and drive partnerships that shape the future.
We accept this honor with gratitude — not only on behalf of GABA as an organization, but also in recognition of the dedicated community of members, volunteers, and partners who make our mission possible. Together, we will continue to advance German-American friendship and cooperation in business, technology, and culture.

Most importantly, thank you to our incredible GABA community of members, partners, and volunteers. This award belongs to all of you — your commitment, ideas, and collaboration are what make GABA such a vibrant bridge between Germany and the U.S. We look forward to continuing this journey together!
A very special thank you to SAP and our board member Yaad Oren for hosting the ceremony at their incredible rooftop in San Francisco.
