
German International School of Silicon Valley (GISSV) – Admissions Coordinator (Mountain View/San Francisco, part-time)
As the Admissions Coordinator, you will accompany families through the entire admissions process. From responding to inquiries via email, phone or through our platform to giving a tour of the campus to finally leading them through the enrollment process, you are the point person for new families as well as re-enrolling families. We are looking for highly organized candidates who will promote the school to prospective families and stay on top of the re-enrollment, on-boarding and off-boarding process of existing families. Excellent communication and team skills are a must. In addition to your duties in admissions, you will be fully responsible for publishing the weekly school newsletter, the GISSV Brief.
LOCATION
This position is responsible for the Mountain View and San Francisco campuses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Provide information and in-person tours in Mountain View and San Francisco for prospective families
- Guide families through the enrollment cycle, ensuring a warm, engaging, and
- mission-aligned experience from first inquiry to acceptance.
- Process new and existing students in all admissions relevant systems and fields
- Work closely with other departments to ensure information is distributed accurately to relevant departments
- Maintain database with admissions information for various reports
- Collect, coordinate and create editorial for the weekly newsletter
- Publish the weekly newsletter each Thursday
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a similar position or equivalent school position, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills, be proactive and self-motivated
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse constituencies
- Excellent communication skills in English and preferably German
- Experience is desired with both the German and American educational systems and cultures
- Knowledge of computer software applications. Experience with school software systems, like Blackbaud, is beneficial but also Photoshop and Google Drive/Google docs…
- Ability to balance competing demands and to improvise or change plans as the situation requires
- Valid US work permit required
FLSA Classification: non-exempt (30h/week), year round
Pay rate: $32-$38 per hour, depending on experience
