On May 9, we had the pleasure of welcoming an exceptional group of thought leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, investors, and students to the Transatlantic Tech Summit 2025 \u2014 hosted in collaboration by GABA NextGen, the Stanford German Student Association<\/a>,<\/strong> and the Global Shapers Community<\/a><\/strong> San Francisco Hub.<\/p>\n

The first panel \u2014 “The Tech Frontier: What’s Next for Innovation & Industry?<\/strong>” \u2014 was recorded live as a Silicon Zombies Podcast<\/a>,<\/strong> moderated by Nick Larson<\/a>.<\/strong> The conversation featured sharp insights from Sara Zare<\/a><\/strong> (AI Investor & Entrepreneur);
\nMatt Domo<\/a>,<\/strong> (Co-Founder of Amazon Web Services AWS)<\/a>;<\/strong>\u00a0Carmen Amo Alonso<\/a>,<\/strong> Ph.D., (Schmidt Science Fellow & AI Researcher at Stanford University<\/a>);<\/strong>
\nDaniele Gammelli<\/a>, <\/strong>Ph.D., (Postdoctoral Researcher, Stanford University<\/a>);\u00a0<\/strong>and

A highlight of the day was the GABA NextGen Award Ceremony, honoring Omar Shaya<\/a><\/strong>, Founder & CEO of Please<\/a> <\/strong>Platforms Inc., for his inspiring vision and leadership. The award was presented by: H.E. Consul General Oliver Schramm<\/a><\/strong> (German Consulate General, San Francisco) and Prof. Dr. Eckart W\u00fcrzner<\/a><\/strong>, Lord Mayor of Heidelberg<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The afternoon panel, “Beyond the Algorithm \u2013 AI’s Role in Society and Digital Trust<\/strong>,” brought even more thought-provoking discussion, led by moderator Brian Sparkes<\/a>,<\/strong> with panelists Tobias Peyerl<\/a> <\/strong>(OpenAI<\/a><\/strong>) ; Johannes Hatz<\/a><\/strong> (Founder of JOVEX AI<\/a><\/strong>) ; Rachna Dayal<\/a><\/strong> (Sugati Ventures<\/a><\/strong>) ; and Vineet Jain<\/a><\/strong> (Wild Tree Ventures<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n
